forever fucked up by the fact that ‘goodbye’ in welsh is ‘hwyl fawr’ (~‘all the best’, literally ‘big fun’) and then because that gets shortened to ‘hwyl’, the phrase ‘bye, mate’ is 'hwyl bach’

hwyl bach is literally 'small fun’

like, that is the complete opposite of the original phrase but means essentially the same thing

prancing-peonies asked:

What is NaNo?

whereislenny answered:

NaNoWriMo is the National Novel Writing Month, a self-induced masochistic nightmare where writers all over the world decide to write 50, 000 words during the month of November for… fun, supposedly?

What do you mean I’m not allowed to call it that on the first day?

More seriously, it’s a very cool concept where you get to write your novel for a whole month, meet writers living near you and generally kick your own butt into being a productive soul. Here’s the official website if you want to know more!

i really like naver’s daily korean conversation & enjoy doing it every day but this convo between friends wondering if two actors with great chemistry are dating in real life is a little too on the nose.

i see so many fans saying stuff like, omg this drama couple is so cute, please date in real life, which i find super creepy.

korean naver shipping culture it’s possible to hate someone’s guts & have sizzling chemistry with them real life is not a drama

off topic again but i really love the sound of the korean language. like as a language it’s just really satisfying to hear idk why.

this is how i feel about japanese. every time i hear japanese it makes me happy, i really like how it sounds.

to me korean just sounds korean, i don’t know how to explain it, it’s weird. like, i don’t think it sounds pretty or ugly. it sounds complex to my ears, i guess, as i am struggling to learn the language.

if i ever reach fluency it will be interesting to see if i feel differently about how it sounds.
